First of all: I’m back! Life gets super busy when you work full time, go to the gym three times a week, have two cats, run your own side hustle, and want to spend time with your friends, boyfriend, and family. Cats & Coffee took a back seat so I could focus on some other priorities.
Earlier this month, I was approached by a representative from Viter Energy Mints asking if I’d like to try a sample of their caffeinated breath mints. Because I’m 68.2% caffeine, I said I’d love to!
Of course, I’m flattered that they found this geeky little blog and offered me a sample, but I have to laugh because they thought I was a mom blog. Unless being a super cool cat mom counts, I’m definitely not a mom blog.
Shortly after the mom blog email, I received a tiny package in the mail with my sample. They sent me a three mint sample pack of their wintergreen flavor.
They’re marketed as a sugar free mint that boosts energy. Each mint has 40mg of caffeine–that’s roughly 1/2 cup of coffee. One mint also has a ton of vitamins B6, B12, and folate. I’m more interested in the caffeine, but I’m frequently B12 deficient. Added bonus for me!
The Bottom Line
These Viter mints have a 4.5 star rating from 821 reviewers on Amazon and I actually think that’s accurate.
I was pleasantly surprised by these mints. The wintergreen flavor wasn’t overbearing, but I still felt like I had fresh breath after one mint. I’d probably need to have more than one mint to benefit from the caffeine, but because I’m a heavy coffee drinker, that doesn’t surprise me at all.
I’ve added a 6-pack of mints to my Amazon cart and will definitely be buying them with my next order. They’ll never replace a good cup of coffee but are convenient to keep in your purse or backpack!
