In honor of 2017’s Pet Appreciation Week, I’m sharing some of my favorite photos of Iggy and Riker.
Iggy, adopted May 30, 2014
Though I had two cats growing up, Iggy is *my* first cat. I adopted her in May 2014, shortly after I moved into my own solo apartment. She’d been pregnant and had her babies at the shelter, and was just around a year old when I brought her home.
Now, she’s a (chubby) sweet house cat who loves to take naps, play with giant IKEA toy rats, and eat lots of treats. One of her favorite foods is pasta sauce, and she also loves Chick-Fil-A french fries.
Riker, born November 17, 2016; adopted Jan. 18, 2017
The boyfriend and I had been toying around with the idea of adopting a kitten for nearly six months when we saw Iggy’s vet had a litter of kittens up for adoption. We picked the runt of the litter and brought him home the next day. Though he was shy at first, Riker’s really come out of his shell and is a very rambunctious, talkative cat.
He’s already Iggy’s size at six months old; I have a feeling he’s going to be a big cat.
His favorite activities include playing with the laser pointer, eating cat nip, and running down the stairs as fast as he can.
Iams Proactive Health High Protein Food
In honor of Pet Appreciation Week, Iams sent Iggy and Riker some treats! Not only did we get a huge bag of their new Iams Proactive Health cat food, but they even sent a new toy and collar. Full disclosure: Iggy is really interested in the food, and Riker is really interested in the toy mouse. Go figure.
