*Modern Map Art sent me the art print featured in this post for review and showcase on my blog–all complimentary. All opinions are my own and I was not paid for this content. I only feature products I like and use/will use on this blog.
I’m super into this whole “geeky decor” thing lately, so bear with me. More than a few of my new posts will be about that as boyfriend and I moved into a new apartment. New space means a new setup which means I’ve got the nesting bug bad! I recently posted about my geeky bookcase setup, and now I want to show off my geeky bar cart.
And please, accept my apologies in advance for the darkish photos. This new apartment is gorgeous–marble counters, dark kitchen finishes, painted concrete floors–but it is DARK. We get so little natural light, and when we do, it only comes from one angle. It’s inconvenient when your cute geeky bar cart is tucked away in a corner! I should probably get some kind of photography equipment to help with the lighting situation.
That being said, I think my bar cart is pretty damn cute. It’s got some subtle geekery to it – see my Alien bottle cap remove? And the Batman head from LootCrate? While I love all of my geeky stuff, I also like to balance that out with pretty things–copper finishes, pretty bottles of wine, some awesome “communist” vodka.
I’m also writing this post to show off my new Modern Map Art print. They kindly contacted me just before our big move to Raleigh and offered me a print to feature here on Cats & Coffee! Isn’t it lovely? The black and white map pairs nicely with my white and copper bar cart. I see it every night when I’m cooking dinner, and it’s a reminder that I moved to a new city that I love.
You can see it hanging above the cart in the picture above, and below in closer detail. I’m still amazed at how detailed the map is. Once I find more wallspace, I’m considering getting maps for each city boyfriend & I have lived in together.
All in all, I’m happy with how the new apartment is shaping up and even happier to have new art to show off. Next up is the home office, and after that, who knows what part of the house I’ll geekify.
Until next time!
Eat, drink, and be geeky!
